No, maintenance insights are free. You need some logged service history for the numbers to mean anything, but the tab itself does not require Pro.
Where do the numbers come from?
Entirely from services you have logged in the app - your dates, odometer readings, parts, and who did the work. There is no outside data mixed in.
Can I see cost breakdowns here too?

Does this work if I only started logging recently?
Yes, the tab updates as soon as you have entries, though the pattern gets more useful the more history you log.
